Air Racer courses, medals, planes and paints
Air Racer has nine courses in three places. Each one is a new line of gates, and later courses add loops, a bridge and a stone arch. Here is what you find on each course, how to open the next one, and what your medals and coins can buy.

How to unlock new courses
The courses open one after another. Finish a course, with any time, to unlock the next one. You can fly a finished course again as often as you like. The Courses page in the menu shows every course with its number of gates and a small map of its route.
Medal times for the free courses
Each course has four medals. The times include any extra seconds from penalties.
| Course | Bronze | Silver | Gold | Author |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Harbour Sprint | 42.5 s | 39 s | 36.5 s | 34.6 s |
| Fjord Slalom | 62 s | 56 s | 52 s | 49 s |
| Waterfall Loop | 64 s | 57 s | 52 s | 48.5 s |
The result screen tells you how much faster you need to fly for the next medal.
Coins for medals
| Medal | Coins the first time |
|---|---|
| Bronze | 300 |
| Silver | 600 |
| Gold | 1,200 |
| Author | 2,500 |
A new medal also pays any lower medals you skipped. Your first finish without penalties on a course pays 100 coins more. Winning the same medal again pays a tenth of its prize. Crashes and practice flights pay nothing. Coins are only earned by flying: there is nothing to buy with real money in the game.
Planes in the Hangar
| Plane | Price | What it is like |
|---|---|---|
| Trainer | Free | Gentle turns. A good place to start. |
| Racer | 2,500 coins | Quick and steady. |
| Aerobat | 7,000 coins | Fast rolls and tight turns. |
| Pro Racer | 10,000 coins | The fastest plane. Keep a steady hand! |
Open the Hangar with B, or from the menu. Each plane card shows its speed, roll, turn power and G limit. Your race times are kept for each plane.
Paints for your plane
Your plane starts with the Standard paint. Win gold on all three courses of a place to unlock a new one:
- Sunset: gold on all three Fjord courses
- Ocean: gold on all three Coast courses
- Champion: gold on all three Canyon courses
