Sea battle tips
Fire from the side
Your cannons only fire sideways. Turn until a rival sits next to your ship, inside a gold dashed lane. Its hull bar turns gold when it is in the lane. Now fire that side!
Reload while you sail
Each side reloads on its own and takes 2.8 seconds. Fire one side, then turn and use the other side while the first one reloads.
Keep moving
A moving ship is harder to hit. Raise your sails to sail away from a rival that is lined up with you. The SEA CHART in the corner shows the islands, the rivals and where you are heading.
Repair at the right time
You have two repairs in every battle. Each one fixes up to 55 hull. Wait until your hull is low, but not too low!
Watch the water
Shallow water near a beach and the edge of the chart are both shown with a warning. Turn away in time. Bumping into islands or other ships damages your hull.
Battle by battle
Start with The Smuggler’s Cove against two rivals. The Emerald Passage brings three, and The Crimson Fleet brings four. Fight them one at a time if you can.
