FreeCell
In FreeCell every card is face up from the start. Nothing is hidden. You just have to find the right order.
The rules
- Put a card on one that is one higher and the other colour. A red 9 goes on a black 10.
- There are 4 free spots. Each one holds one card. Park a card there to reach the cards under it.
- An empty pile can take any card.
- Aces go up to the top piles. Then 2, 3 and so on, all the same suit.
- You win when all 52 cards are up top.
How many cards can move at once?
You really move one card at a time, but the game does the steps for you. How many cards you can move together depends on your free space:
(empty free spots + 1), doubled for each empty pile.
| Empty free spots | Empty piles | Cards you can move |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | 0 | 1 |
| 2 | 0 | 3 |
| 4 | 0 | 5 |
| 1 | 1 | 4 |
| 3 | 1 | 8 |
If you move a run into an empty pile, that pile does not count.
Tips
- Keep free spots free. Each card you park takes away room. Try to use them for a short time only.
- Empty a pile. One empty pile doubles how many cards you can move.
- Free the aces and twos. Look for low cards near the bottom and dig them out first.
- Almost every deal can be won. If you get stuck, Undo and try another path.
