Space Tiles FAQ: free, ads, iPad and more
Here are short answers to the questions kids and grown-ups ask most about Space Tiles.
Is Space Tiles free?
Yes, you can try it for free. Planets 1 to 12 of galaxy 1 and the daily puzzle are free for everyone. Membership opens all 324 planets and the 9 Big Junk Ships, and every other Contenta game too.
Are there ads or things to buy in the game?
No. There are no ads and nothing to buy inside the game. There is no chat either.
Does Space Tiles work on an iPad, an Android tablet or a phone?
Yes. Space Tiles runs in the web browser on tablets and phones. Hold the device sideways, because the game is played in landscape. You drag tiles with your finger and tap them to turn them.
Do I need to download or install anything?
No. Space Tiles opens in your web browser on a computer, tablet or phone. There is nothing to download or install.
Can I play with a controller?
Yes. Use the D-pad or the left stick to pick and move a tile, A to pick it up and drop it, and Y or RB to turn it. All the buttons are in the controls guide.
How do I save my game?
You don't have to do anything. The game saves after every move, in this browser on this device. If you clear the browser data, or play on another device, you start from the beginning.
What age is Space Tiles for?
It is made for kids from about 8 to 12, and grown-ups like it too. Younger kids can play the first planets with some help, because ROB shows how it works.
Is it scary or violent?
No. Nobody fights and nobody gets hurt. The only enemy is space junk, and the Big Junk Ships are just a bit grumpy. There is no timer and you can't lose.
How long is the game?
There are 9 galaxies with 36 planets each, 9 Big Junk Ships and a new daily puzzle every day. Small frames take a minute or two. The big frames in the last galaxies take longer.
How do I beat a Big Junk Ship?
Fill its frame, just like a planet. The Goal shows the moves you need for 3 stars, but you clear the ship even with more moves. Stuck? Use Hint or a power-up. The puzzle tips have more ideas.
How do I open the next galaxy?
Fix all 36 planets of a galaxy, then clear its Big Junk Ship. Read about every galaxy on the galaxies page.
Which languages can I play in?
English, Swedish, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Change the language in Settings.
