Caribbean Corsairs FAQ: questions answered

Is Caribbean Corsairs free?

Battle 1, The Smuggler’s Cove, is free to try. Battles 2 and 3 are for members. The gold you win stays saved when you join.

Are there ads or things to buy in the game?

No. There are no ads, no chat and nothing to buy inside the game. Gold is a score, not money.

What age is Caribbean Corsairs for?

It is made for kids of about 8 to 12, and grown-ups can have fun too. The first battle has short lessons, and you can try again as often as you like.

Is it violent or scary?

It is a cartoon sea battle between made-up ships. Ships fire cannonballs, take damage and sink, but no people are shown and there is no blood. When your ship sinks, the game tells you that your crew is safe.

Does it work on iPad, Android tablets and phones?

Yes. It plays in the web browser on tablets and phones, with big touch buttons. Hold your device sideways (landscape). If you hold it upright, the game asks you to turn it.

Can I play with a controller?

Yes. Steer with the left stick, use RT and LT for the sails, LB and RB to fire and Y to repair. You can move through all the menus with the controller too. See Controls.

Do I need to download or install anything?

No. Caribbean Corsairs runs in your web browser. The browser needs WebGL for the 3D sea, and almost every up-to-date browser has it.

How do I save my game?

The game saves by itself. Your best gold for each battle and your settings are kept in this browser on this device. If the browser cannot save, or the game is open in two tabs, the game tells you.

How long is the game?

There are three short sea battles. How long they take depends on you. You can play any battle you have opened again, to aim better or win faster.

How do I unlock battle 2 and battle 3?

Win the battle before it. Battle 2 opens when you win battle 1, and battle 3 opens when you win battle 2. Battles 2 and 3 are for members.

How do I beat The Crimson Fleet?

Fight one rival at a time, fire from the side and sail away while your cannons reload. Keep your two repairs until your hull is low. The tips page and the sea battles page have more help.

Which languages can I play in?

English, Swedish, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. You can change the language in the menu or in Ship settings.
