Spider

Spider has ten piles and two decks of cards. Build a whole suit from king to ace, and the row flies away. Make eight of them to win.

The rules

  • Put a card on one that is one higher. Any suit is fine.
  • A group of cards only moves together if it is all the same suit, in order.
  • When king down to ace of one suit sits in order on a pile, the whole row flies off the table.
  • An empty pile can take any card.
  • Tap the draw pile to deal one new card on every pile. You can't do that while a pile is empty. Fill it first.
  • You win when 8 suits have flown off.

How many suits?

Choice How hard
1 suit All cards are spades. The easiest, and you can almost always win
2 suits Spades and hearts. A bit harder
4 suits All four suits. A real challenge

Tips

  • Build in one suit when you can. A same-suit run can move as one group. A mixed run gets stuck.
  • Empty piles are gold. Use them to sort cards, not just to park one.
  • Get ready before you deal. A new row covers every pile. Make your good moves first.
  • Turn over hidden cards. The more cards you can see, the more choices you have.
