Everyone records more footage than anyone will ever watch: two-hour gameplay sessions, full wedding ceremonies, dashcam drives, entire football matches. The moments worth sharing add up to thirty seconds.

The new Remix page in AI Video Enhancer Studio gets you from a long recording to a short highlight reel in three clicks — scene detection picks candidate moments, you adjust the clip list, and one render produces a clean MP4.

What the Remix page does

Remix runs ffmpeg scene detection over your video and scores every scene change. The strongest changes usually mark the interesting beats: a goal, a cut to a new angle, an explosion, the first dance.

From those scores it plans a set of short clips (3–6 seconds each by default) spread across the video, targeting the total length you asked for. The result is a plan you can see and edit — not a black box.

How to make a highlight reel

The whole flow lives on one page:

1. Drop a video onto the Remix page (or click Choose Video).
2. Pick a target length — 15, 30, 60 seconds — and click Suggest Highlights.
3. Review the clip list: edit start/end times, delete clips, add your own. Times accept plain seconds or hh:mm:ss.
4. Click Render Remix. A single ffmpeg pass cuts and joins everything into one MP4, with live progress.

Tips for better highlights

• Raise the scene sensitivity if you get too many clips from a static recording (screen captures, interviews); lower it for fast-cut action footage.
• Set the clip count manually when you want exactly N moments — otherwise it is derived from the target duration.
• Videos longer than 4 hours are analyzed in a window you choose — point it at the half where the action happened.

Scriptable from the CLI too

The same engine ships in the command line: aivideoenhancer remix suggest input.mp4 --duration 30 prints the planned clips (add --json for automation), and remix render cuts the MP4. Perfect for batch jobs and AI-agent workflows.

Does Remix re-encode the whole video?

No. It decodes only up to the last selected clip and encodes just the seconds you keep, so a 30-second reel from an hour-long video renders in a fraction of the source length.

Can I use it on videos without audio?

Yes — silent sources are detected automatically and rendered video-only instead of failing.

Is the highlight selection AI-generated?

It uses ffmpeg's scene-change scoring — deterministic, local, and free. Nothing is uploaded; your footage never leaves your PC.
