  • 98.5 %Video · 84.8 MB
  • 1.1 %Audio · 0.95 MB
  • –Subtitles · none
  • 0.4 %Metadata and container · 0.33 MB

  • 8.1 %Audio · 7.16 MB
  • 0.01 %Subtitles · 11 KB
  • 0.4 %Metadata and container · 0.34 MB
Video is 91.5 to 98.5 % of the bytes, so that is the stream that has to shrink. Audio is copied unchanged by default.

Sizes are the packet bytes ffprobe reports for each stream; metadata and container is what is left of the file.

Hardware Acceleration

Automatically detects and uses your GPU for blazing fast encoding. Falls back to software if no compatible hardware is found.

Automatic hardware to software fallback

Reclaim your disk space — without sacrificing quality

Drop in a whole folder of videos and shrink them with H.265, AV1 or VP9. On our 11-clip test set, H.265 on an NVIDIA GPU cut 254.9 MB to 128.4 MB and no file came out bigger. No visible quality loss, no upload, no subscription, all on your PC.
